George Russell Schofield Winchester - George Russell Schofield, 88, of rural Winchester passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester. He was born, Aug. 30, 1935, in Winchester the son of Joe and Opal Bettis Schofield. He married LaDonna L. Cochran, June 20, 1954, and she preceded him in death Sept. 6, 2015. Surviving are four children, Gene (Carolyn) Schofield of Winchester, Vicky (Harry) Pate, Frank Schofield both of Murrayville, and David Schofield of Arenzville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, John Schofield, Charles (Julie) Schofield, David and Shelly Cochran and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy (Bryant) Sipes and sisters, Mary Turner and Viriginia Neff. Russell was employed with the US Postal Service for 40+ years.
