Rodger William CarmeanRodger William Carmean, 66 of Winchester, passed away at his home on Sunday November 24th 2024. He was born September 4th 1958 in Beardstown, the son of the late William "Bill" Carmean and Ruth Jean Hutchings Carmean of rural Arenzville.Rodger graduated from Meredosia High School in 1977, attended Quincy Tech for auto mechanics, and later received his welding certification from Midwest Technical Institute. He was employed at National Starch/Celanese for 21 years and worked as a carpenter, but his real passion was farming. Be it livestock or agriculture, all he ever wanted to be was a farmer. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, and gardening. He was also an avid supporter of the Jacksonville American Legion and VFW posts. Rodger never met a stranger, and always enjoyed a good conversation. Above all he was a proud father and grandfather, instilling a strong work ethic and sense of duty in his boys from an early age.Rodger is survived by his sons Doug (Courtney) Carmean
